American-Palestinian Adolescent Freed Following 270 Days in Israeli Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American teenager having endured nine months in Israel's custody without charge gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where he was visiting from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

The US state department applauded the news of Mohammed's release.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"Right now, our priority is getting Mohammed urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and brutal treatment for months."

American authorities announced ongoing to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority than the safety and security of American nationals"," it added.

Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to the state department and the administration, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since February, and only heard regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.

The teenager remained without charge within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

It is also home to adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences and homicide.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, document cases involving abuse and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts seeking justice for their relative Sayfollah Musallet.

Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.

No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We demand US authorities to protect our families," family representatives emphasized.
