Barça Set to Play First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
