David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
