Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Posted on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
