League Commissioner Adam Silver 'Upset' over Recent Events

Speaking about the arrests for the initial occasion, league head Silver said he was "very upset" by the events of the recent days.

"Nothing is more critical to the league and supporters than the integrity of the competition," he informed Amazon Prime. "Therefore I felt uneasy. It was very upsetting."

Silver further said an NBA investigation into Rozier's conduct in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a match he played for the Hornets versus the New Orleans Pelicans, found nothing untoward.

"We were informed by the regulators and the betting companies," he added.

"We investigated the matter and were very transparent about it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, frankly, found no evidence.

"The federal government has subpoena power... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can do all kinds of things that the league office can't do.

"Therefore, we've been working with them from that point. And, of course, what they revealed recently was an indictment.

"And two and a half years after, he has not been found guilty of any offense, in justice to Terry.

"Obviously, it doesn't look good, but he's been suspended, and so it is a balance here between protecting people's rights and conducting an inquiry."
