This event led to the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
